Without the help of Western partners, Ukraine will be weaker, the head of state noted.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky does not advise Western countries, including the United States, to experiment with delaying aid to Ukraine. The head of state said this during a speech in Davos on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum.
In particular, the president was asked what would happen if Ukraine did not receive funding from the United States of America, and whether Ukraine could fight the Russians without American help.
“To be honest, I would not advise us all to experiment. Because it is a terrible experiment to delay with this or that help. The problem is that we sometimes even call help help. Because not everyone, unfortunately, realizes that this is safety not only Ukraine. Yes, for the most part – Ukrainian people, but this is the security of the European continent, and will certainly have an impact on security on all continents. And this has an impact,” Zelensky emphasized.
As an example, he recalled the consequences of Russia’s blocking of the Black Sea for many countries of the world, when many countries were left without bread, and dumping of prices for agricultural products also occurred.
“Not helping Ukraine means not helping many continents, where chaos can be sown due to hunger or many other things,” Zelensky said.
The president also noted that due to the Russian full-scale invasion, 7 million people left Ukraine.
“And if we allowed greater penetration of the Russian Federation and the complete occupation of a state in which there are 40 million people? What could it be? Even greater migration risks,” Zelensky said.
He said that providing assistance is, first of all, ensuring stability for Europe.
Zelensky noted that Ukraine will be weak on the battlefield without help.
“We will have a large shortage of artillery, a very large shortage of missiles for air defense. This means that we will not be able to repel ballistic missile attacks and the like. There will be a large number of killings and a large number of wounded people. That’s all. Thanks to air defense systems , for example, which is very expensive, we don’t have blackouts this year. And our people have heat, water, and in hospitals, and in kindergartens, and in schools. Because, what will happen? There will be a big crisis. Now there is a war, and there will be a big crisis for the whole of Europe. Why? Because without the help of the United States, without the help of the European Union, Ukraine will struggle, Ukraine will be weaker, and this will be an opportunity for Russia to capture us, Zelensky is convinced. As soon as they capture us, believe me , this will be a war between NATO and the Russian Federation.”
The head of state believes that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin really wants this.
As reported, on January 11, Zelensky emphasized that the key goal of our state for this year is not to surrender Ukrainian territories and not allow the Russian Federation to freeze the conflict.
