The President ironically commented on the statement of the candidate for the post of head of the White House that he would “end the war in Ukraine in 24 hours.”
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky commented on the statement of US presidential candidate Donald Trump that he would “end the war in Ukraine in 24 hours.” In an interview with Channel 4 News, the Ukrainian head of state invited Trump to come to Kyiv.
“Donald Trump, I invite you to Ukraine, to Kyiv. So, if you can stop the war in 24 hours, I think that will be enough to come,” Zelensky said.
In particular, Trump’s idea to quickly end the war in Ukraine causes Zelensky concerns.
“That is, he says that he will make decisions on his own – I’m not even talking about Russia – without both sides, that is, without us. This suggests that if his idea, which no one has heard, does not work for us, our people , then he will do everything to implement his idea in any case. And this worries me a little,” Zelensky noted.
He also said that he is not concerned that American politicians tell him one thing and do something else behind his back.
“I’m not worried, with all due respect, about congressmen or senators. I’ve met with them. When I sat with them, regardless of whether we talked one-on-one or in joint meetings, the vast majority, 99%, they were on my side. I trust the results. We would not be able to survive without the support and help of the United States. This is a fact. And therefore I basically trust and count on them today,” the President of Ukraine emphasized.
