The updated version may be reviewed as early as next week.
The updated version of the mobilization bill may be considered by the relevant committee as early as next week, although there are debatable norms there.
People’s Deputy, Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Egor Chernev said this during the telethon.
“We have plans to consider this bill next week,” he said.
The People’s Deputy clarified that we are talking about consideration at a committee meeting, where they plan to invite representatives of the Ministry of Defense, who are the authors of the bill, because there are questions even about its updated version.
He noted that it was positive that the rule on the possibility of mobilizing people with disabilities of the third group was removed. But at the same time, there is a norm that those who work with people with disabilities can be mobilized.
According to him, there is also the issue of receiving a summons through electronic offices for those liable for military service.
“Again, we removed summonses by email, but now added summonses in the electronic office. Technically, we want to hear from the Ministry of Defense what this will look like, because not all people can or have access to the Internet or have smartphones. That is what it will practically look like,” Chernev said.
According to him, there are questions about the deprivation, in particular, of the right to receive consular services if a person has not registered abroad.
“I would like to hear the position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, firstly, whether our consular departments can cope with such tasks. And, secondly, will this really give any results, will people actually return because of this, and not vice versa – we We’ll lose them forever,” the people’s deputy said.
Chernev noted that the National Security Committee does not need much time to familiarize itself with the bill, because the previous bill was worked out very thoroughly, so “let’s go through what has been changed compared to the first edition.” “I hope that in one or two meetings we will pass this issue, and then we will make a decision on what to recommend to the session hall – either pass it in the first, or perhaps, if there are alternative bills, finalize it and make it a committee bill and submit it to the session hall hall,” the people’s deputy said. He believes that next week the committee “will pass this bill,” meaning it will be considered.
What they say in the Rada about the renewed mobilization
Earlier, the head of the press and information department of the Ministry of Defense, Illarion Pavlyuk, noted that the Verkhovna Rada should as quickly as possible adopt an updated bill on mobilization that meets the requirements of the time.
According to him, discussing a bill in a democratic state is an absolutely normal process, but in war conditions there is not so much time for this.
According to him, the bill is quite effective for replenishing and strengthening the Armed Forces. It contains a key rule regarding the service life – 36 months.
We are talking about an updated version of the mobilization bill, which the Cabinet of Ministers submitted to the Verkhovna Rada on January 30. The government withdrew the previous bill, introduced in December, due to serious criticism of it in parliament and society.
