Russian troops use old howitzers from World War II.
The expansion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ bridgehead in Krynki on the left bank of the Kherson region is not a response to Russian troops attempting to advance along Avdiivka, noted military-political observer Alexander Kovalenko, Focus reports.
He recalled that these are two different directions.
Commenting on the information that the Russians are using old howitzers from World War II, Kovalenko said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are actively using such weapons.
M-46 howitzers have a caliber of 130 mm and both sides have a lot of ammunition left for such artillery, although there are not many guns themselves, the publication writes. In addition, this howitzer is very popular in the DPRK, and Russia can count on additional ammunition for these guns from North Korea.
“The main thing about these howitzers is that they can hit a range of 25 km with a high-explosive fragmentation shot, and even 35 km with rocket shells… With such howitzers, the invaders are trying to achieve parity with the artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which have an average range of 30 km, thanks to the systems” Suzanne, CRAB, M-777,” the expert added.
