The aggressor deliberately supports the narrative that, following Ukraine, the Russian Federation will invade other countries.
During a massive missile attack on February 7, one of the Russian missiles approached the border with Poland. This was a deliberate provocation of the Russians to show that they are not afraid of NATO, said Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, in an interview with Channel 24.
“This is just classic Russian bravado. They say, we can do this, we can fly to the NATO border, and then return and kill the civilian population, and you will be scared, because it almost reached you, and you will do nothing, because the missile will kill Ukrainian citizens,” he said.
Podolyak also commented on today’s statement by the former President of the Russian Federation, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, who threatened NATO countries with missiles “with special warheads,” obviously hinting specifically at nuclear weapons.
“Russia is behaving as insolently as possible. They begin to insult everyone, to provoke them. These missiles flying towards Poland are accompanied by threats of ‘the next Warsaw’. The Russians support the narrative that war will definitely happen, and they will immediately seize the Baltic Sea. They behave as and is inherent in Russia,” Podolyak emphasized.
Russian missile near the borders of Poland
As wrote, during the morning missile attack against Ukraine, one of the Russian missiles came within about 20 km of the Polish border, and only then changed the direction of movement again deeper into Ukraine. Because of this, Poland was forced to urgently scramble its own fighters to intercept the missile.
After this, the Polish Minister of Defense issued a statement in which he warned about the growing threat from Russia. In his opinion, the aggressor has already recovered from the initial losses in the war.
