Freight vehicles carrying humanitarian aid or other important cargo are likely not even allocated to the queue.
Representative of the State Border Service of Ukraine Andriy Demchenko expressed doubts that Polish farmers who blocked checkpoints on the border are letting through the required amount of humanitarian aid going to Ukraine.
“In the queue that exists on the territory of Poland, most likely, they do not even allocate cargo vehicles that transport humanitarian aid or other important cargo that is moving to Ukraine,” said the speaker of the State Border Guard Service during the telethon.
When asked if this meant that the humanitarian aid worker was also stuck, Demchenko said: “most likely, yes.”
He also noted that due to actions in Poland to block traffic in recent days, there has been a partial increase in queues of trucks in Slovakia and Hungary.
“For example, opposite the Uzhgorod checkpoint on the territory of Slovakia, as of this morning, there are about 450 trucks in line. And 230 cargo vehicles – opposite the Tisa checkpoint – this is on the territory of Hungary,” the representative said GPSU.
Border Blockade
As reported, in February, Polish farmers once again began a protest on the border with Ukraine. As of February 13, six checkpoints were blocked. On February 14, the Polish association of independent trade unions Solidarity stated that farmers want to completely block all checkpoints from February 20. In response, Ukrainian carriers began protesting in response.
As of the morning of February 16, Polish farmers continued blocking in five directions – checkpoints “Yagodin”, “Rava-Russkaya”, “Shegini”, “Ustilug”, “Ugrinov”.
