According to Yuri Zdebsky, there are some articles under which certain people are convicted, and these people can be recruited into the army.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence is considering the issue of mobilization of prisoners and convicts. People’s Deputy, member of the committee Yuri Zdebsky spoke about this, the League reports.
“We have considered this issue, we are considering it, and I think that there will be some kind of solution. There are some articles under which certain people are convicted, and these people can be recruited into the troops. They could fight,” the people’s deputy noted.
According to him, this issue is still being discussed in the committee.
“Because all these people need different approaches. You need to understand who is in prison for what. This is the only way to decide whether to later release this person from punishment,” Zdebsky emphasized.
He emphasized that this issue “will absolutely be discussed in the future, since people are needed in the Armed Forces.”
“Starting next week we will consider the bill and will go over all the issues in more detail,” the parliamentarian concluded.
