Russia will take revenge wherever possible, its former leader said.
On the day of the second anniversary of the full-scale war, Deputy Head of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev made new threats, clarifying that they are not spoken about publicly.
The former leader of the Russian Federation was angry at the sanctions that the West imposed against the Putin regime on February 24. The official said that citizens of the Russian Federation have become accustomed to endless restrictions. “We learned to live with them,” Medvedev clarified.
He also focused on a particularly painful blow to Russia: the sanctions imposed against the Mir payment system.
As you know, Putin and his entourage switched to the mentioned cards back in 2018. His press secretary Dmitry Peskov spoke about this publicly. However, Medvedev claims that the West is planning to squeeze all of Russia in this way, promising to take revenge on everyone and everywhere for this.
“They (sanctions – ) were adopted against the entire population of Russia. For example, the ban on the Mir payment system and restrictions on the activities of companies engaged in housing construction in the country. The reason is clear – the worse it is for Russian citizens, the better it is for the Western world. Let them all suffer there. We all just need to remember this and take revenge on them wherever possible,” he said.
Among the possible damage to Europe and the United States, the former leader of the Russian Federation threatened difficulties in the economy, inciting society against the “mediocre policies of Western authorities,” as well as the development of international solutions with which Russia, in his opinion, would be able to infringe on the West.
“Do this constantly, systematically and as openly as possible. And also carry out other activities on their territory that are not customary to talk about publicly,” he hinted.
Zelensky addressed Ukrainians on the anniversary of the war
Today, on a significant and sad day for the nation – the second anniversary of a full-scale war – President Zelensky recorded an address from Gostomel. It was from there that the “taking Kyiv and Ukraine in three days” was supposed to begin, but now Ukrainians are meeting their partners there, Zelensky emphasized.
Let us recall that the Gostomel airfield played a key role in the defense of the capital of Ukraine in the first period of the war. As you know, Russia managed to destroy most of the planes, but due to ignorance of the situation and the work of the partisans and Ukrainian troops, the enemy was confused and could not land a single plane there. The fighting continued until February 27, Russia lost. A participant in the battles for Gostomel, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate, spoke about this in detail.
