According to the head of the Foreign Ministry, Ukrainian diplomats are in contact with both Republicans and Democrats.
Ukraine is hearing many signals from the United States about providing new assistance to Kyiv – both from Democrats and Republicans. But it’s time to move from signals to decision-making. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba spoke about this in an interview with Voice of America.
According to him, Ukrainian diplomats are in contact with both Republicans and Democrats. At the same time, “Democrats say that the problem is with Republicans, and Republicans say that the problem is with Democrats.”
“We respect the domestic politics of the United States, politics works the same everywhere, but in all the conversations with American politicians, which are not always pleasant and nice conversations, I say one simple thing: “Look, every day while you are there playing domestic politics, from -people are dying in Ukraine due to the lack of your decision. And if you remember this, I think it will speed up the search for an internal political compromise,” Kuleba said.
He stressed that American policymakers are aware of the price we pay for their domestic political debates.
“I’m not saying which of them is right and who is wrong. This is their internal politics, we have nothing to do with it. But if the Ukrainian soldier does not receive the necessary weapons, this will ultimately trigger processes that will harm the interests of America and ordinary Americans. Therefore, the best thing is to help the Ukrainian soldier,” the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry concluded.
