According to him, the Russians are suffering huge losses in the Avdeevsky direction.
Russian occupation forces are trying to develop their offensive in the Avdeevka area of the Donetsk region. The situation on this section of the front remains difficult for quite a long time, said Ukrainian Armed Forces officer Dmitry Lazutkin.
“After the Defense Forces maneuvered to retreat to the lines west of Avdievka, the enemy is trying to continue to develop its offensive with assault actions. Heavy fighting continues. Now the invaders are trying to surround some of our positions, throwing UABs almost every hour,” he emphasized in a commentary to the TV channel “Espresso”.
However, according to him, the Russians are suffering huge losses in the Avdeevsky direction. The military man noted that Ukrainian defenders “are working very well with FPV drones and equipment.”
“But we will monitor the situation and fight to prevent the occupiers from advancing further, there are reasons for this,” Lazutkin added.
He also commented on the withdrawal of troops from Lastochkino. In his opinion, this decision was predictable.
“For some time, our troops held Stepnoye and Lastochkino. Now the Ukrainian Armed Forces have retreated a little to more advantageous positions. This can be seen from the elevation map and the location of reservoirs on the ground,” the officer stated.
War in Ukraine: important news from the front line
The speaker of the operational-strategic group of troops “Tavria” Dmitry Likhovy said that after the Ukrainian Armed Forces withdrew from Lastochkino, Donetsk region, Russian invaders stormed Orlovka from three sides. According to him, it is now difficult to say how much the situation on the battlefield will change after leaving Lastochkino, but the Ukrainian defenders are doing everything to destroy the enemy.
At the same time, in the Zaporozhye direction, the Russian invaders do not have such success as in Avdeevsky. Likhovy noted that in just the past 24 hours the enemy carried out 6 assault operations.
