The Ukrainian Armed Forces were able to learn how to bypass the latest Russian defense systems in order to shoot down enemy aircraft. The head of the Ukrainian Center for Security and Cooperation, military expert Sergei Kuzan said this on air at the information marathon.

“Our Defense Forces are building just such an effective counter to Russian bombers. Let me remind you that the Russians believed that it was the Su-34 bombers, paired with the S-35, that could be protected, and that they could unhindered at a considerable distance, up to 70 km, simply throw our positions with bombs,” Kuzan said.

The expert added that the Russians promoted the claim that Su-35 aircraft could compete with Western models.

“As we see, our air defense systems hit both aircraft,” he noted.

He was also asked if the Russians could come up with something to protect such equipment from attacks by Ukrainian forces.

“Fighters and interceptors can be sent there for cover. Of course, they have powerful radars and have appropriate missile weapons, but as of now we are able to manage with a minimum number of air defense systems – these are launchers and missiles, and it is obvious that we “we carry out such launches from the ground – to bypass all the latest enemy technologies and hit their bombers. Indeed, they have not yet figured out how to counter our actual attacks,” Kuzan concluded.

Shooting down of Russian planes

On February 27, within 24 hours, the Ukrainian Defense Forces managed to shoot down two Russian Su-34 aircraft in the east.

The Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Nikolai Oleshchuk, noted that with such losses of combat and special aviation, the Russians should think about stopping “aviation meat assaults” at least for a while.

It is worth noting that, according to official data from the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the enemy army has lost 665 aircraft. In particular, we are talking about 340 aircraft and 325 helicopters.
