The “calm” came after another Su-34 was shot down by the Russian occupation forces.
There have been no sightings of Russian aircraft in eastern Ukraine for several hours. This was announced by the commander of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Nikolai Oleshchuk.
Back at 19:00, he showed a map of eastern Ukraine, where no enemy aircraft were recorded. Then Oleschuk emphasized that “this is the result of the work of the Air Force.”
At 22:39 Oleschuk published a new photo.
“No changes so far, enemy drones are still flying in the south, but everything is clear in the east!” – he wrote in his telegram channel.
It is worth noting that the “calm” came after the shooting down of another Su-34 by the Russian occupation forces.
Shooting down of Russian planes
Over the past two weeks, Ukrainian defenders have shot down more than 10 enemy aircraft, including Su-34, Su-35 and one of the few A-50. The latter was shot down over the Sea of Azov and fell on Russian territory. It is known that all crew members were eliminated.
On the morning of March 1, another Su-34 of the invaders was shot down. The Air Force reported this. Already on the evening of March 2, the commander of the Armed Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Nikolai Oleshchuk reported that two more Russian Su-34 and Su-35 fighters were attacked by anti-aircraft guided missiles in the eastern direction. Later it became known that the Su-34 was “grounded”.
