According to Zuzana Caputova, the fastest path to peace is through Vladimir Putin, who will order his troops to leave Ukraine
The meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Slovakia and the Russian Federation Juraj Blanar and Sergei Lavrov turned out to be ineffective in terms of resolving the issue of the war in Ukraine. The President of Slovakia, Zuzana Caputova, announced this on the social network X.
According to her, this meeting “has not brought us closer to a just peace in Ukraine, where Russia has illegally and groundlessly invaded.”
“The fastest path to peace is through Vladimir Putin, who will order his troops to leave Ukraine, without giving him hope for his victory and acceptance,” Caputova emphasized.
Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Slovakia and the Russian Federation
The day before, Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and shook his hand. Diplomats discussed the opportunities that a peace summit in Switzerland could provide.
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, commenting on the meeting, said that it is an example of “our balanced and sovereign Slovak foreign policy on all sides of the world meeting.”
At the same time, representatives of the Slovak opposition said that Blanar had thus put Slovakia on a par with Iran, North Korea, China or Hungary, calling it “a betrayal of our foreign policy orientation.”
