The citizens are being accommodated in a hotel in Egypt and will soon be transported to Ukraine.

On March 7-8, the next stage of the evacuation of Ukrainian citizens from the Gaza Strip took place. The Ukrainian Embassy in Israel informs about this.

It is noted that through the Rafah checkpoint, 59 of our citizens and members of their families were taken to Egyptian territory – in particular, 15 children, 37 women and 8 men.

“Thanks to the efforts of representatives of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and diplomatic staff of the Ukrainian embassies in Israel and Egypt, the evacuation was successful, the citizens were accommodated in a hotel in Egypt, and they will be transported to Ukraine in the near future,” the message says.

Evacuation of Ukrainians from the Gaza Strip

On November 9, the first stage of the evacuation of Ukrainians from Gaza took place. Then, 43 Ukrainians and 36 Moldovan citizens were taken out of the sector.

The operation to rescue Ukrainians was carried out by employees of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine under the general leadership of the President of Ukraine.

Later that month, 8 Ukrainians were evacuated from the Gaza Strip. In total, during the first stage of evacuation, Ukraine managed to remove 259 people from Gaza.

The Foreign Ministry, in particular, expressed gratitude to Egypt, Israel, Qatar and other partners for their support in the evacuation of Ukrainian citizens.
