After approval of Zaluzhny’s candidacy for the post of ambassador in London, certain procedures must be completed.
The procedure for appointing former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny as Ambassador to the UK has already been launched – documents are now being drawn up.
As Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Andrei Sibiga said during the telethon, a corresponding proposal from the Minister of Foreign Affairs has already been received with a proposal to appoint Zaluzhny as ambassador. According to him, President Vladimir Zelensky supported and agreed upon it.
Sibiga added that after approval of Zaluzhny’s candidacy for the post of ambassador in London, certain procedures must be followed.
“The formal ending of the story is the presidential decree on the appointment after receiving the aggrement from the British side,” he stated.
Appointment of Zaluzhny as ambassador: what is known
On March 7, 2024, information appeared that the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny had been appointed to a new position. His candidacy was approved by President Zelensky for the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already sent the British side a corresponding request for agreman. Commenting on this appointment, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba emphasized that London is one of the most important capitals in the world, and “they don’t send just anyone there.” The minister expressed confidence that the appointment of Zaluzhny as ambassador meets both the interests of the former commander-in-chief and the interests of Ukraine.
