The CIA noted that America faces “an increasingly fragile world order.”
China is providing economic and security assistance to Russia amid the ongoing war against Ukraine.
A report by US intelligence agencies states that America faces an “increasingly fragile world order” strained by competition between large states, transnational challenges and regional conflicts.
“An ambitious but restless China, a confrontational Russia, some regional powers such as Iran, and more capable non-state actors are challenging the long-established rules of the international system, as well as US primacy within it,” the CIA report says, according to Sky News.
China provides assistance to Russia by supporting its industry.
“Trade between China and Russia has been growing since the start of the war in Ukraine, and (Chinese) exports of goods with potential military uses have more than tripled since 2022,” the report adds.
In her testimony, Avril Haines, the director of national intelligence, also called on Congress to approve increased military aid to Kyiv.
She said it was “hard to imagine how Ukraine” would be able to hold on to the territory it recaptured from Moscow’s troops without further help from Washington.
War in Ukraine – China sent a negotiator
The Chinese Foreign Ministry said that negotiations are the only way to end the fighting in Ukraine.
Bloomberg wrote that Beijing sent a high-ranking diplomat to Kyiv to find a political way to end the war in Ukraine, but in Beijing itself they do not pay attention to Ukrainian diplomats.
Later, the Chinese Foreign Ministry called the visit of Special Representative for Eurasian Affairs Li Hui to Kyiv “friendly and frank.”
