Today Russia has already lost a sixth of its oil refining capacity.

Ukraine can launch from 30 to 60 long-range drones across Russian territory, which is a big problem for the aggressor. This data is provided by military analyst for the German publication Bild Julian Röpke.

According to his calculations, since the beginning of the year, 12 oil refineries in Russia have been attacked by Ukrainian drones. The maximum distance at which the strikes were carried out was 900 km. About 12% of Russian oil refining capacity came under attack. Fearing a gasoline shortage on the domestic market, the Russian authorities have already had to introduce a six-month ban on its export.

“This would be a big problem for Putin. Naturally, the shortage would primarily affect not the army, which will continue to be supplied, but the population, which would not be able to drive cars. This would be a big problem that would negatively affect Putin’s image, despite to any propaganda and fake elections,” says Röpke.

As wrote, on the night of March 17, the Slavyansky oil refinery in the Krasnodar Territory was attacked. He received a number of serious damages in the atmospheric and vacuum blocks. This will lead to a decrease in the productivity and quality of the oil refining process.

According to calculations by The Insider, since the beginning of this year there have been 15 drone attacks on 13 oil refineries in 9 Russian regions. The total capacity of the attacked plants is approximately 178 million tons of oil per year. However, those that were damaged have a combined capacity of 83 million tons per year.

But if we take into account only significantly damaged primary oil refining installations, then the campaign of air strikes has so far affected only the capacity of 46 million tons per year – 14% of the total capacity of Russian refineries.
