According to him, due to the fact that the West has not provided Ukraine with enough weapons, the Russian Federation is inflicting destructive blows on people and infrastructure.
The head of the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Gabrielius Landsbergis, reacted to the large-scale Russian attack on Ukraine on March 22. According to him, Western countries are mistaken when they do not provide our state with sufficient weapons and air defense systems.
“We suppressed arms supplies, we failed to provide enough air defense, and now we are asking Ukrainians to sit with their hands folded while cruise missiles fall on their families,” he emphasized on the social network X.
Landsbergis noted that these mistakes “set the course of the entire century” and cannot be justified in any way.
The politician also supplemented his publication with a photograph showing the consequences of the Russian army’s attack on the Dnieper hydroelectric power station.
In turn, US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink commented on the massive missile attack on Kyiv that occurred on March 21. According to her, such an attack could be a Russian response to a meeting of security advisers in the Ukrainian capital to discuss a peace formula.
“The Kinzhal hypersonic missile hit Kyiv at 5:00 am, 10 civilians were injured, including a child,” Brink wrote on the social network.
At the same time, the ambassador thanked the air defense forces for their work.
Rocket attack on Ukraine on March 22: what is known
On March 22, Russian occupiers launched a massive attack on Ukraine with missiles and drones. On this day, hits were recorded in Krivoy Rog, Kharkov, Zaporozhye, Kropyvnytskyi and Khmelnitsky, in the Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv regions.
However, the most important goal for the Russians was the Dnieper hydroelectric station. The Russian occupiers launched 8 missiles at it.
“Today Zaporozhye was under the most massive attack – only the hydroelectric power station itself was hit 8 times, that is, 8 missiles that hit this extremely important facility for Ukraine, which contains not only a powerful energy component, but also performs other functions… And that’s all we understand the possible consequences – Ukraine has already experienced the consequences of the destruction of a similar facility (Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station – ),” said then the head of the department for combating crimes in armed conflict of the Office of the Prosecutor General, Yuriy Belousov.
