The infrastructure of one of the underground gas storage facilities was damaged.
On Sunday, March 24, the infrastructure of one of the Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities was damaged by an enemy attack. However, there are no critical consequences. This was announced by the head of the Naftogaz group, Alexey Chernyshov.
“The attack will not affect the supply of blue fuel to Ukrainian consumers. All nominations from customers for storage and capacity reservation services also continue to be fulfilled in full. The situation is under the control of our specialists and all involved services,” Naftogaz reported.
It is noted that work to eliminate the consequences is currently ongoing, according to the scenarios of the localization and emergency response plan.
“There are no critical consequences for ensuring the operation of the underground gas storage facility, because the gas is located at a considerable depth. The damaged part of the ground infrastructure will require restoration, but we have enough reserve capacity,” added the head of the group.
Consequences of massive shelling
On the morning of March 24, during a short air raid, Russia again attacked the Lviv region, using hypersonic missiles. Subsequently, Naftogaz reported that the group’s facilities were damaged in the west of the country. Work continues to localize and eliminate the consequences of the emergency.
During one of the attacks on March 24, a Russian missile crossed into Polish airspace. The country’s Ministry of Defense expressed confidence that if this morning the Russian missile had flown a little further, deeper into the country, it would have been shot down before it caused trouble.
