The Russians cannot resist terror even for one week, the president says.
Over the past week, the Russian occupiers have used more than a thousand air attack weapons against Ukraine – missiles, kamikaze drones and aerial bombs. President Vladimir Zelensky announced this in his evening address to the nation.
“During this week, from Monday until today, Russian terrorists used almost 190 missiles of various types and almost 140 Shaheds, and almost 700 more guided bombs. There has not been a single week in more than two years of this war when Russia abstained from terrorism,” the head of state said.
The President also thanked the pilots, anti-aircraft gunners, mobile fire brigades and electronic warfare system operators who are countering Russian attacks from the sky.
“Of course, our air shield requires significant strengthening – we are working on this. But already now at least some of the missiles and most of the Shaheds are being shot down by our soldiers,” Zelensky noted.
Aggressor air strikes: latest news
As wrote, the Russians began to more actively use the insidious and criminal tactics of air strikes, known as double tap, that is, a double strike. It consists of repeating a missile or bomb attack after rescuers, doctors and police arrive at the site of the first strike. From the point of view of humanitarian law, this is a war crime.
It was precisely this tactic that the Russians used, in particular, during the attack on Odessa on March 15, when more than 20 people were killed. On the morning of March 24, the Russians used the same tactics to attack Lvov. As experts say, the Russians worked this tactic well in Syria, where their aircraft freely wiped out entire cities from the face of the earth.
