German Interior Minister Nancy Feser congratulated the Ukrainian national football team on reaching Euro 2024.
Germany is well prepared to protect Ukrainian fans and football players during Euro 2024, the country’s Interior Minister Nancy Feser said in an interview with the dpa news agency.
“Security measures are at a high level and are closely coordinated between the federal authorities, states and participating countries. We will do everything to protect the Ukrainian team and its fans. We continue to focus on preparations. Our focus is on a wide range of activities: from protection from hooligans and Islamists to ensuring cybersecurity,” Feser noted.
She also congratulated the Ukrainian national team on reaching the European Championship and noted that this is not only about sports. In addition, she added that she would root for Rebrov’s team together with the Ukrainians.
The Ukrainian national team qualified for the 2024 European Championship
The night before, the Ukrainian national football team defeated the national team of Iceland in the final playoff qualifying for Euro 2024. The match score was 2:1, Viktor Tsygankov and Mikhail Mudrik scored for Rebrov’s team.
Thus, the Ukrainian national team qualified for Euro 2024, where it will play in a group against the national teams of Belgium, Romania and Slovakia. The competition will take place in Germany, and the first meeting will take place on June 17 against the Romanian national team.
