In our country they want to introduce basic military service instead of conscript service.
Mobilization continues in Ukraine, and the Ministry of Defense has published information about what Bill No. 10449 provides for on mobilization activities and military training.
Mobilization is offered from 25 to 60 years of age, and from 2025 basic military training will be introduced in higher educational institutions. Certain categories of citizens are exempt from basic military training at universities.
Instead of urgent military service, basic military service is introduced for a period of 5 months in peacetime and 3 months in wartime. Citizens over 18 years of age can choose to complete basic military service. 18-year-olds, regardless of having completed basic military training or service, will receive a deferment until they reach mobilization age.
It is also noted that the bill provides for 2 types of military training for men: basic military training and basic military service. The training will be valid for that category of men who study in higher educational institutions. And those who do not study at the university will serve.
Today the focus is on mobilization – Ukraine should know this
As reported, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense rejected proposals under which young people over 18 years of age could be mobilized.
Now the parliamentary committee on national security and defense continues to consider amendments to the mobilization bill. As of March 26, 2,815 amendments had been processed.
According to the representative of the TCC and the joint venture of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, Roman Bondar, the authorities are deliberately delaying the adoption of the law due to the “unpopularity” of such a decision.
