The analyst explained in which case the Russians might begin to advance on Kharkov.
The Russian Federation is not currently carrying out offensive actions against Kharkov or other cities of Ukraine, since it does not have enough occupiers.
If the Russian authorities mobilize, then an attack on Kharkov 2024 will be possible in a few months, since the enemy will need to prepare invaders, military expert Mikhail Zhirokhov said on the Kiev24 channel.
“Russians are now held back only by a lack of personnel. In connection with Putin’s “re-elections,” everyone expects that now there will be either covert or open mobilization. And then we can talk about some operational directions, about an attack on Kharkov or some others Ukrainian cities,” the analyst said.
According to him, if mobilization does take place in Russia, then “it will take at least two months to prepare these military personnel.”
“It won’t be that they will be thrown into battle straight from the train. There will be a need for some kind of combat coordination. And in general, all the Russian plans that are known are somewhere planned for July-August of this year. Not earlier. They have some reserves, but for an attack on a city like Kharkov, this is clearly not enough,” Zhirokhov emphasized.
In the spotlight Kharkov – the news today is worth reading
At the end of March, the head of the Kharkov garrison and defense forces of Kharkov, General Sergei Melnik, said that anything can be expected from the Russian side, but the current talk about supposedly “offensive actions” by the Russians against the regional center is fake.
Later, the deputy commander of the 3rd separate assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Major Maxim Zhorin, said that a Russian offensive this year, in particular, is possible on the border. The officer is confident that this year the enemy is able to accumulate enough equipment and manpower to try to open at least one more offensive direction.
