The main barrier that stands in the way of those who want to buy a folding smartphone is not even the fragility of the screen of such devices, but the high price tags. And although Samsung is the leader of the segment, Huawei was among the first to solve this problem. A smartphone visually similar to the P50 Pocket has been registered in the database of the TENAA regulator. Their model naming is also close: BAL-AL00 for P50 Pocket and BAL-AL80 for our new hero, tentatively called Huawei P50 Pocket Lite or P50 Pocket Youth Edition. The main factor in the price reduction was the chipset used – instead of Snapdragon 888, Snapdragon 778G 4G is mentioned, which, by the way, is noticeably more energy efficient, which means it will have a great effect on autonomy.
On the outer cover, you can see a triple main camera in a round module, as well as an adjacent secondary display, similar to that offered by the P50 Pocket. It is not known if Huawei has changed something else in the device besides the chip, but it is almost certain that the P50 Pocket Lite will claim the title of the most affordable foldable smartphone on the market. Launch dates have not yet been mentioned.
