As reported by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov and Amazon AWS State Transformation Director Liam Maxwell discussed cooperation in the field of cloud technology development in Ukraine and the current needs of the digital state.
It is emphasized that in order to support Ukraine, Amazon Web Services allocates $75 million. These funds will be directed to migration services of state registers and other databases important for the functioning of the state to the AWS environment. Also, part of the funds will be directed to humanitarian aid and equipment, with the help of which Ukrainian children can continue the educational process.
In 2021, the Ministry of Digital Affairs signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Amazon AWS. This year, the parties extended their partnership for 2023. It is believed that continued cooperation will stimulate the development of cloud technologies in government institutions and enterprises.
In addition, Amazon is also engaged in educational work. The company arranges free educational courses and AWS certification for Ukrainians. The ITSkills4U pilot project has already gathered 11,000 Ukrainians who want to learn IT professions.
