If anyone has long dreamed of a Lenovo ThinkPad-like phone with a carbon fiber body, they may soon be in luck.
Tech Outlook has published leaked images of a product called the Motorola ThinkPhone. The photo shows a smartphone with a carbon fiber body, similar to Lenovo’s ThinkPad laptops. It also uses the traditional ThinkPad font.
The leaked specifications indicate that the ThinkPhone will have 8 or 12 GB of RAM and a flash module of up to 512 GB. The Motorola smartphone will also use the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, the same chip announced in May that has since been found in Honor, Oppo and Xiaomi phones.
The Oppo Find N2 received a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, a 4520 mAh battery and Hasselblad cameras. The weight of the folding model is 230 grams, and the price is $1150

The ThinkPhone is also expected to sport a 6.6-inch OLED (1800 x 2400) display with 144Hz and HDR; a frontal 32-megapixel camera and three cameras on the back panel – a 50-megapixel main, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
The blurry promotional images also show some integration with Lenovo laptops, but it’s unclear what features will be supported. The leak did not mention availability or pricing, or whether the ThinkPhone will be available outside of China.
With the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January just weeks away, and the Mobile World Congress in February, we’d expect to see an official ThinkPhone announcement soon.
