“We are looking forward to the 10th anniversary of The Last of Us in June and are very excited to share with you details about the future of this franchise. Along the way, we will prepare some funny surprises for you. Later this year, we’ll start bringing you some details about our ambitious multiplayer game, The Last of Us. With a team led by Vineet Agarwal, Joe Pettinati and Anthony Newman, the project is shaping up to be a fresh, new experience for our studio based on Naughty Dog’s passion for creating incredible stories, characters and gameplay. We first shared concept art for the project with you last year, and we hope this new concept art will get you even more excited about what our team is working on.”

Details about Naughty Dog’s massively multiplayer The Last of Us, including a release date, are not yet available. It is only known that it will be a full-fledged separate game, and not an addition. Additionally, Naughty Dog’s recent job listing suggests that the game may well be free-to-play.
