Twitter will stop forcing the algorithmic “For you” feed to open and launch a more expensive ad-free subscription

Twitter will stop forcing the algorithmic

Twitter’s next update should make it less pushy to use the algorithmic “For You” timeline. This was announced by Elon Musk.

The app will reportedly “stop switching you back to recommended tweets” and will remember which user viewed last: “For you” (recommended), “Reading” or a user-created list.

Until last month, Twitter had a button that allowed you to specify which version of the timeline a user wanted to use. This option disappeared when the company implemented an updated interface that allows you to switch between the two time zones. At the same time, the program was opened on the algorithmic ribbon by default.

Musk also says that in the future, users will be able to organize the top bar by creating their own order of the For You, Reading, and other pinned lists.

In addition, Elon Musk wrote that Twitter will launch a new “more expensive” Blue subscription, which will allow you to work with the platform without viewing ads. Twitter Blue’s current $7.99 per month subscription promises 50% fewer ads compared to the amount seen by regular “unverified people,” though the feature isn’t live yet.

A more expensive ad-free subscription could be Twitter’s answer to disappointing Blue subscriber numbers and a 40 percent decline in ad revenue on the platform. In addition to the new rate, Musk says Twitter is also working to reduce the frequency and size of ads on the service.

There is no word yet on how much the new ad-free subscription plan might cost or when it might launch.
