The Ukrainian government, for obvious reasons ( Ukraine’s IT industry brought in $3.2 billion in the first five months and is the only business sector to grow in 2022 ), is placing a huge bet on IT in its economic recovery strategy for the development of the country. One of the main goals is to increase the share of IT in the country’s GDP from the current 4% to 10% by 2024. A significant role in achieving this goal is assigned to Diya.City and various government initiatives, including the aforementioned Start in IT program – a total of UAH 1.8 billion will be allocated for this to teach 60,000 Ukrainians.
In addition, from September 1, 2022, Ukrainian schools are waiting for the pilot implementation of an updated computer science program for all classes.
