The Chinese corporation BBK has problems in Germany, which, according to experts, may spread to other EU countries. The source was Nokia, which filed a lawsuit against OPPO and OnePlus, which, in its opinion, violated a number of patents related to 4G connectivity, and won it. As a result, a ban on the sale of smartphones of two brands starting from August 5th. Sanctions may also apply to other countries if there are appropriate appeals.
Android Police has reached out to OPPO for comment. They reported that the conflict is related to the agreement on cross-licensing in the field of 4G. According to OPPO, Nokia demanded too high fees for license renewal and went to court the day after the end of the current agreement. At the same time, it is not yet said how they will get out of this situation. OPPO smartphones have already been removed from the official website, OnePlus 10T is not listed on the OnePlus website in Germany and there is no opportunity to buy earlier models.
