Mark Zuckerberg claims that Meta has planned major graphics updates for its Horizon Worlds VR. Zuckerberg previously shared an image of his own virtual avatar that was ridiculed online. He said the company will share details of the changes at the upcoming Connect conference.
The image was released last week alongside the announcement of the launch of Horizon Worlds in France and Spain. The screenshot shows a primitive Zuckerberg avatar in front of the Eiffel Tower and the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, which are so clumsily drawn.

The image quickly took on a life of its own on Twitter, with people ridiculing the low resolution and amateurish graphics. In particular, many wondered why Zuckerberg’s avatar was so flat and lifeless after the company had invested billions of dollars and bet on the success of the metaverse .
Zuckerberg did not directly respond to the criticism, but acknowledged that the image he previously shared was “pretty basic” and promised improvements. His latest post included two new, much more detailed and realistic renders: his avatar and an open-air scene depicting ancient ruins.
