Days Gone may not get a full-fledged sequel, but its post-apocalyptic story has every chance of finding new life. According to Deadline, Sony’s PlayStation Productions division is developing a 2019 film adaptation of the game.
Sam Heughan (Outlander) will reportedly play the title role, while Sheldon Turner, who previously wrote the screenplays for Up in the Air and X-Men: First Class, will write the script. Turner suggests that the final film will be “a love ballad for motorcycle movies”.
Recall that Days Gone is an open-world action-adventure game with elements of survival horror. To date, it has sold 9 million copies. Initially, the game was not well received, but after porting to the PC, it achieved new-found success. Most reviewers on YouTube agree that in 2022, Days Gone still deserves the attention of the players. Most of the reviews on Steam also speak well of the game. So the film adaptation of Days Gone may be of interest to a large audience of fans who positively evaluate the game.
In addition, it has recently become known that Sony also plans to make TV series based on the games God of War, Gran Turismo and Horizon.
