The prank failed: Apple removed SBOL and Invest from the App Store

August 23, 2022, 06:24

This spring, Apple removed the applications of many Russian banks that fell under sanctions from the App Store. The only option for using banking services for those who did not have the application installed was a browser, but a week ago Sberbank offered an original solution: the SBOL and Invest applications were added to the App Store, which turned out to be copies of the well-known Sberbank Online and ” SberInvestor”. As expected, Apple did not tolerate such an attempt to circumvent sanctions: today both SBOL and Investr were removed from the store’s catalog. It is not known if Apple will miss similar app clones in the future, but everyone has had a whole week to install “SBOL” on their iPhone or iPad.
