Sony has suddenly announced a new controller for the PlayStation 5. It’s called the DualSense Edge, and it has all the benefits of the original DualSense, including adaptive triggers and a special set of vibrations. The main advantage of the “edge” are the huge possibilities for customization. If not everything, then a lot can be configured: reassign or completely disable individual buttons, adjust sensitivity (for example, to adjust the sight for yourself) or dead zones for sticks and triggers (a move in which the element is not recognized in the game), two additional keys with the possibility of replacement, on which you can customize the most important game elements, interchangeable caps for sticks (standard, low and high). In addition, there is an Fn button that allows you to control some elements of the system without the console menu (for example, you can add or reduce the sound in the game or adjust the chat balance).
DualSense Edge supports several user profiles that allow you to make a separate setting for a specific user or game, and you can switch on the fly. Another interesting detail is the interchangeable stick blocks, which will allow you to extend the level of battery life (sold separately). Unfortunately, there is no price or specific release date yet, but it is known that the package will include the above-mentioned stick and button caps on the rear panel, a USB-C cable for charging and a carrying case. More details are expected to roll out in the coming months.
