One of the most intriguing and least revealed elements of the Huawei Mate 50 is the camera suite. This morning, a live snapshot of the back of the device, covered with a special case, scattered across the expanses of Weibo. And he told us a lot. Firstly, he confirmed the design concepts of the Mate 50 series. Secondly, he pointed out the use of three main cameras, which include a wide (upper left corner), a periscope (lower right corner) and a main module (upper right module). Inside the latter, you can also see aperture blades, which indicates the use of a variable aperture – an extremely rare technology on the smartphone market, which only the Sony Xperia Pro-I and the old Samsung Galaxy S9 offer.
The periscope is rumored to offer 3.5x optical zoom and 100x digital zoom. Regarding the module in the lower left corner, opinions differ: it can be a BW sensor, typical of Huawei flagships, or laser autofocus. Other sources suggest that the latter may be placed just below the LED flash, which means that the version with a monochrome sensor looks a little more valid. We will learn the real configuration of the Mate 50 at the presentation that Huawei will hold on September 6th.
