Earlier this year, Google introduced AI Test Kitchen, an Android app that allows users to chat with one of its most advanced AI chatbots, LaMDA 2.
The company is opening registration for early access today. Registered via the link will be able to download the application and start chatting. For now, this feature is only available in the US.
The application has three modes, each of which is designed to test different aspects of the system’s functionality.
- “Imagine This” asks users to name a real or imagined place, which LaMDA will then describe (the test is whether LaMDA’s description matches reality)
- “Tell about it” offers a conversational prompt (e.g. “talk to a tennis ball about a dog”) with the intention of checking if the AI can stick to the topic
- Make a List asks users to name any task or topic to see if LaMDA can break it down into subtopics. For example, if you say “I want to plant a vegetable garden”, the response might include “What do you want to grow?”, “Irrigate and maintain”, and so on.
It would be interesting to compare the results of Google and Meta – the latter imposes fewer restrictions on interaction with BlenderBot . This means that the likelihood of awkward statements by a virtual interlocutor is reduced.
Google still fired an engineer who noticed signs of consciousness in artificial intelligence LaMDA
