In March of this year, Google limited the operation of the Google Play store in Russia, banning payments, and therefore buying paid applications and subscriptions. Yesterday, the news spread across the Runet that Google had changed its payment rules, allowing the use of alternative payment methods in Russia starting from August 2. And although this is true, a couple of important clarifications need to be made. Firstly, it concerns all payment for in -app purchases, and not the offers themselves, which will remain unavailable for purchase and download from Russia.
Secondly, restrictions have been lifted not from users, but from application developers , who now have the opportunity to introduce a third-party payment system into their applications. Therefore, it is far from certain that all of them will want to use it. In fact, Google simply included the Russian Federation in the list of 27 EU countries that also received this privilege at the end of July.
