Adam Kiczynski, President and CEO of CD Projket, has announced that the next three games in development are based on the Witcher franchise, meaning a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 is expected in the more distant future. The studio will open a new development center in Boston that will focus on Project Orion, along with an office in Vancouver called CD Projekt Red North America.
The first game since The Witcher 3, codenamed Polaris ( originally announced at the beginning of the year), will be followed by two more sequels as part of the trilogy. According to the CDPR strategy document, all three games will be released within six years of the first one. Two additional Witcher games, codenamed Sirius and Canis Majoris, will be created by developer The Molasses Flood and an unnamed external studio led by “experienced developers who have worked on past Witcher games.”
Polaris will mark the beginning of a new trilogy, to which the other two listed games do not belong. In one of them there will be elements of multiplayer passage.

The most mysterious was the announcement of a game not related to the Witcher or Cyberpunk universes. The project bears the mysterious name Hadar. Unlike the developer’s previous games, Hadar will belong to a third and completely original universe built from the ground up by CD Projekt Red. This game is most likely in the very early stages of the development process and the studio is still shaping the unique setting.
CD Projekt Red did not provide further details about the new games or release dates. Currently, 350 employees of the studio are working on the Cyberpunk 2077 story addition – Phantom Liberty, which is expected to be released in 2023.
