The Slovak company Simple Mobile Tools, which develops open-source alternatives for standard Android applications, has released its first smartphone. And, being open to her customers, she immediately admitted that this is just a Chinese smartphone, on which they install their software and sell it for 400 euros. However, it is in the software that all the salt is here, so why not. The smartphone runs on SimpleOS, proprietary Android firmware with all the Simple Mobile Tools applications and without a single Google service. Instead, microG is here – it replaces the API of Google services, including Google Maps, which fixes many problems in the work of third-party software. The F-Droid app store is also preinstalled, and two years of updates are promised.
Well, the Chinese smartphone itself, which is the basis of Simple Phone, is really simple and certainly does not cost 400 euros: MediaTek Helio P60 chipset (used in Realme 1 and hundreds of Chinese non-name budgets), 6.53″ IPS screen with a resolution Full HD +, 4 GB RAM, 128 GB ROM, 4500 mAh battery, triple main camera 48 + 8 + 5 MP (4 lenses are drawn on the renders, but the camera is triple in the specifications), 25 MP front camera, USB Type-C port and two nano-SIM slots.Simple Phone will go on sale November 1st.
