Noctua has released NA-TPG1, a thermal paste protector for the latest AMD Ryzen AM5 processors. Under the pressure of the cooling system, part of the applied paste is pushed out. On AM5 processors, excess paste accumulates in the notches on the sides of the heat spreader and can be difficult to remove. Easy and safe to use, NA-TPG1 prevents this undesirable phenomenon.
“While it’s undeniable that the new AMD Ryzen 7000 processors perform fantastically, we’ve found that the cutouts on the sides of the heat spreader tend to attract thermal paste, which can be difficult to clean,” says Noctua CEO Roland Mossig. “That’s where our new thermal paste protector comes in: it’s a simple yet highly effective tool for keeping your Ryzen 7000 series processor clean.”
Constructed from heat-resistant polycarbonate and forming a tight seal around the edges of the CPU heat spreader, NA-TPG1 is easy and risk-free to apply and remove, effectively preventing thermal paste from building up in the cutouts of AM5 processors.
NA-TPG1 will be available in a separate set with ten NA-CW1 (NA-STPG1) cleaning pads, as well as new versions of Noctua NT-H1 and NT-H2 thermal pastes. All three products should become available in December.
MSRP is $7.9 for NA-STPG1, $9.9 for NT-H1 3.5g AM5 Edition and $13.9 for NT-H2 3.5g AM5 Edition.
