Images posted on social media show that freight train cars are on fire, and a significant part of the roadway is also damaged.
The explosion, according to witnesses, occurred at about 6 am on Saturday, October 8, at the moment when the train crossed the Kerch bridge.
Russia has used the railroad portion of the bridge to move armor, artillery, and other military equipment to Crimea before transporting it to Kherson and Zaporizhzhia. https://t.co/yUAV3WWKQh

Later videos show that the section of the road bridge that runs parallel to the railroad tracks has also been destroyed.

The bridge is very symbolic for Russia and an important route that is used to move armored vehicles, artillery and other military equipment to the Crimea before transporting them to Kherson and Zaporozhye.
Later, Russian media wrote that on one of the sections of the Crimean bridge, a “fuel truck caught fire”, and local residents rushed to gas stations, fearing a lack of fuel.
One of the local occupying officials appointed by Moscow said:
“A tank wagon with fuel is on fire on one of the sections of the bridge. Transport arches are not affected. It is too early to talk about the causes and consequences. Work is underway to put out the fire.”
However, video footage taken from the roadway shows several railway cars along the entire length of the train, of which there are at least 6, burning intensely.

However, the Russians manage to make us laugh, saying that the bridge was damaged by “Ukrainian vandals”.
