In early January, the Honor Magic V debuted, becoming the company’s first foldable smartphone. Now, judging by the new reports of the Digital Chat Station informant, the manufacturer is preparing an updated model. This time it will be based on the top-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, and the form factor, apparently, will change with the fold-out screen option. This allowed the company to increase the battery capacity to a class-record 5000 mAh, but, more importantly, without exceeding the weight of competitors.

The source hinted at 26x grams, and added in the comments that if the Galaxy Z Fold 4 weighs 263g, and Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 weighs 262g, then guessing the weight of the new Honor Magic V is not difficult. The screen will feature a large 2K high refresh rate panel manufactured by China’s BOE. Release dates have not yet been mentioned, but it is unlikely that the device will be presented before the first quarter of 2023.
