Vivo has announced the launch of a new Funtouch OS 13 proprietary shell designed for users outside of China, where Origin OS is used. The new skin is based on Android 13 and will soon begin rolling out to more than 50 global Vivo and iQOO device models. But first, let’s go over the innovations. First of all, Funtouch OS 13 will attract attention with the flexibility in customizing interface colors, which can be assigned both manually and automatically based on the wallpaper installed on the main screen.
Tools have been added to the camera application that will help you not to fill up the horizon when shooting, as well as by simple swipes along the screen borders, adjust the saturation, brightness, contrast and exposure of the captured content. In addition, a convenient toolkit for managing the sound of video recordings at the editing stage has appeared.
A nice little thing are the special functions in case you need to hand over the smartphone to someone. The owner can hide the selected pictures in the gallery with one click, or even pin a certain application, which an outsider cannot leave.
Vivo has also worked on optimization: smartphones running Funtouch OS 13 will be less prone to overheating due to improved adjustment of the chipset’s operating frequencies, as well as a reduction in the number of applications hanging in the background. By the way, they are now displayed in the curtain and can be easily stopped with one touch.
Finally, the weather widget has become more informative, now also displaying the quality of the air and the amount of dust in it, and users with disabilities will certainly appreciate the new useful features and display color correction modes.
Now about the release schedules for beta builds. Two roadmaps have been released – one for Vivo devices, the other for iQOO. According to them, the lion’s share of smartphones from both brands will receive the Funtouch OS beta before the end of this year, and the rest will move to it in the first half of 2023.
