It happened: after months of talks, dramatic change of plans and litigation, Elon Musk finally acquired Twitter. The deal was closed this Thursday for $44 billion. Having published a symbolic tweet “the bird is freed” (the bird is freed), the first thing Musk did was to start personnel purges among top managers. Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal, chief financial officer Ned Segal, and head of legal policy, trust and security Vijaya Gadde were fired. Recall, Musk promises to revise the business model of Twitter, putting freedom of speech at the forefront.
