A year earlier, Samsung was wildly optimistic about 2022, setting a particularly ambitious goal of selling 334 million smartphones. In fact, everything went awry and in August the company had to lower the expected supply bar for the second time – to 260 million, which is close to the anti-record of 2020 (250 million units). Now it’s time to set goals for 2023 and Samsung, judging by the latest report from Naver.com, is now being cautious.
It is reported that next year’s shipment target is a modest 270 million smartphones, which only highlights the tech giant’s pessimism about the mobile market in the next 12 months. At the same time, up to 60 million devices will fall to the share of top Galaxy S and Galaxy Z solutions, while the remaining 210 million will be distributed among Galaxy A and Galaxy M models of the middle and budget classes.
