Moreover, last week the company officially confirmed plans to transfer future iPhones to USB-C, which can be considered a big victory for the European Union and the environment in general. However, it would be naive to believe that the Cupertino people will not try to earn extra money on USB-C. It turns out that Apple has cut back on the cable that comes with the new iPad 10 , iPad Pro 11, and 12.9 (2022). The USB-C to USB-C cable (code A2795) is devoid of the E-Marker chip introduced with the USB 3.1 standard and determining the maximum speed and power characteristics.

Because of this, it only supports currents up to 3A and charging power up to 60W, and the data transfer rate corresponds to the ancient USB 2.0. Moreover, with its help it is impossible even to broadcast video. At the same time, earlier USB-C cables from the same Apple (code A1997), which came bundled with other iPads, have a built-in E-Marker, support currents up to 5A, charge up to 100W, although the protocol is the same old – USB 2.0 .
