Canon has updated its 2020 EOS R6 full-frame mirrorless camera. The EOS R6 Mark II is the first in the EOS R lineup to receive a second-generation version. It offers a new sensor, the ability to shoot 4K video without cropping, and improved subject tracking with autofocus.

The Dual Pixel CMOS AF II autofocus system includes 1053 dots and covers 100% of the frame. Autofocus is able to detect the heads, faces and eyes of people. Auto mode can independently select tracking for human, animal, bird, vehicle. The system is also able to recognize trains and planes, track the entire body, head or eyes of horses.
The new camera contains a built-in 5-axis image stabilization system that compensates for up to 8 stops of exposure. The device allows you to change the sensitivity in the range from ISO 200 to ISO 102400 (up to ISO 204800 in advanced mode). The continuous shooting speed is 12 fps with the mechanical shutter and up to 40 fps with the electronic shutter. Video recording is possible in 4K/60p resolution (uncropped) oversampled from 6K, as well as 6K/60p RAW to compatible external recorders. Full HD video recording is supported at up to 180 frames per second.
The novelty contains a 0.5-inch OLED-viewfinder with a resolution of 3.69 million dots and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, as well as a tilting 3-inch touch screen with a resolution of 1.62 million dots. There are two SD UHS-II card slots for storing footage. Using the USB-C connector, you can connect the camera to a smartphone or use it as a webcam. Built-in Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11ac modules allow you to transfer data without using wires or remotely control the device.
The new Canon EOS R6 Mark II will go on sale later this month for $2,499. Also available are RF24-105 F4.0-7.1 IS STM USM ($2799) or RF24-105 F4 L IS USM ($3599) lens kits.
