'The Squid Game' and 'The Matrix' Stars to Star in Star Wars: The Acolyte

Lucasfilm has announced the main cast of its upcoming thriller Star Wars: The Acolyte. The main roles in the series will be played by the stars of other popular projects, including The Squid Game and The Matrix.

In addition to the previously announced actress Amandla Stenberg (“The Hunger Games”), the series will also star Lee Jung Jae (“The Squid Game”), Manny Jacinto (“Top Gun: Maverick”), Dafne Keen (“Logan”), Jodie Turner- Smith (“The Last Ship”), Rebecca Henderson (“Westworld”), Charlie Barnett (“Chicago Firemen”), Dean-Charles Chapman (“Game of Thrones”) and Carrie-Anne Moss (“The Matrix”). So far, there is no information about exactly what roles the mentioned actors will play.

The events of the series Star Wars: The Acolyte take place in the last days of the era of the Great Republic. The upcoming detective thriller will take viewers into a galaxy of dark mysteries and new powers of the dark side. A former Padawan reunites with his Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes. But the forces they face are much more sinister than they imagined.

The series was announced back in 2020 . It is being developed by showrunner Leslie Headland. There is currently no release date for Star Wars: The Acolyte.
