Google is starting to migrate users to the new interface of the Gmail mail service. The company announced that it will disable the ability to return to the previous version of the interface for two weeks.
Google is calling the new look and feel of Gmail an “integrated” view. In its left sidebar, you can switch between different services, including Mail, Chat, Spaces and Meet. Hovering over these buttons opens a small preview pop-up menu, and clicking them fills the entire screen with the corresponding application. If the extra buttons look distracting, Meet and Chat can be turned off in the settings menu. Then the entire sidebar is hidden.
Google began testing the new Gmail interface back in February, and has since been gradually pushing users to switch to it. In July, the new design became the main one, although it remained possible to return to the previous version of the interface. Now the new user interface becomes the only one available for work.
