The Chinese industry in many cases is inspired by the rule “we don’t copy, we borrow”. Turkish drones have proven their effectiveness in battles in Ukraine – and here at the international exhibition in the city of Zhuhai, the Chinese company CETC demonstrates an almost complete visual copy of the Bayraktar TB2 model.
The copy looks so similar that looking at it automatically dismisses thoughts of accidental similarity or design variation on the theme. However, there are some differences: a slightly different line of the tip of the wing, as well as antennas removed from the hull up the fuselage. It’s surprising to see such a similarity, given that the Chinese company is one of the 20 largest arms manufacturers in the world with a large staff of engineers.
Copying external forms is not as important for the performance and characteristics of the drone as the internal “stuffing” and software. It is not so easy to turn an aircraft into an effective fighter and scout. So far, nothing can be said about these qualities of the Chinese copy of Bayraktar.
Baykar wants to produce at a plant in Ukraine not only Bayraktar TB2 and Akıncı, but also the latest unmanned fighter – Bayraktar Kizilelma
